Heavy rain and thunderstorms became more concentrated overnight near an elongated area of low pressure located several hundred miles south of Mexico’s southern coast. Environmental conditions remain favorable for further development, and a tropical depression or tropical storm is expected to form in the coming days as the system slowly moves west to west-northwest.
